This plane (kanna) is amazing! I went through all the necessary steps to ensure a flat sole, trued up sides on the dai and a secure and stable fit of the iron to the dai. I was amazed at how little adjustment was required! The sole was perfect! (I used feeler gauges and a straight edge, and winding sticks) I needed to scrape a tiny amount to ensure the iron was evenly supported and I stropped the blade a tiny bit in case there were any burrs on the edge. I used thumb pressure to seat the iron and was pulling micron sized shavings within a half hour of opening the shipping box! What a truly remarkable tool This is my third purchase from Yamasuke Kurashige Tools and my experience with them has been outstanding!
